Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the apoptotic effect of DIM on BPA treated mammary and ovary tissues of female Sprague-Dawley rats. Apoptotic markers were analyzed in rat mammary tissue epithelial cells and ovary after chronic administration of BPA (10 μg/kg/bw) alone and along with DIM (5mg/ kg/bw). Immunohistochemical analysis of mammary tissue shows the over expression of Bcl-2 and decreased expression of Bax and western blot analysis shows the decreased expression of cytochrome c, caspases 3, 9 and 8 whereas over expression of Bax and decreased expression of Bcl-2 was observed in ovary.
